Multi-Unit General Manager | Aramark
What about the foodservice/hospitality industry intrigues you?
It’s an ever changing and evolving industry. The trends and patterns of today will change in the next few weeks, months, and years. So to be successful, you have to continue to learn and grow as a leader.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I plan to continue my career with Aramark. In 5 years, I would like to see the Atlanta market continue to grow and be the district manager over Georgia and Tennessee.
Is your current position the first you’ve held at Aramark?
No, I began my career with Aramark as a food service director. I was in that position for a year before being promoted to the GM over middle/north Georgia and East Tennessee.
What experience from university do you most value?
I graduated with a major in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business Administration. The most valuable experience that I learned from UNC-G was time and money management. I worked 40 hours a week, while going to school fulltime. The balance between school and work has helped me with managing clients, directors, chefs, and associates.
How has your involvement with SHFM helped your professional success?
The biggest thing has been the amazing network of people that I have met. SHFM is a terrific organization that allows people to filter ideas, strategize different topics, but above all introduces you to people inside of your community and around the country.
