SHFM Gives Back

SHFM HUNGER GAMES / CHARITABLE ACTIVITY

Each year SHFM conference attendees come together during our annual hunger awareness activity for an afternoon of fun and networking. In addition to providing an entertaining event, this portion of conference also offers an opportunity for SHFM to give back to the local community. Thanks to the generosity of SHFM members we have raised thousands of dollars to support local hunger initiatives. SHFM is dedicated to helping those in need in the foodservice and hospitalities industries.

With the enormous success of previous years, you won’t want to miss this year’s event on Tuesday, December 7 from 4:45pm – 6:30 pm. We’ll be going back to the traditional Hunger Games format; attendees will be placed on a team to compete in four activities with the goal of earning points. The team earning the most points wins! And best of all, proceeds from this year’s event benefit Gracie’s Kitchen, a Nassau County organization that serves meals to food insecure in their community. Gracie’s Kitchen is run entirely by volunteers out of a former middle school and as a group they are able to cook and serve meals to support single mothers, families, senior citizens, military veterans, the homeless and the working poor. Find more details about Gracie’s Kitchen!

We look forward to you joining us for this fun filled event! Make sure to sign up for the Hunger Games when you register for conference!

NEW! Purchase the first-ever Hunger Games lapel pin when you register for conference.
